California Chrome and Songbird Dominate

On a late August Saturday afternoon, two horses showed their greatness. One, California Chrome, a veteran, champion, and all-time leading money winner, and two, Songbird, an unbeaten three year old filly. California Chrome won the Pacific Classic at Del Mar Race Track. He faced a ton of talent in the race that included Dortmund and the amazing veteran filly Beholder. California Chrome made it look easy. On the east coast, Saratoga Race Track has been dubbed the graveyard of champions because great horses haven't had a ton of success there. Well, Songbird once again had no trouble at all and made it a perfect 10 for 10 wins in her career. Mike Smith didn't have to ask her to do anything as he and Songbird were in cruise control to a brilliant victory. The big question here is, will Songbird challenge the boys in her near future and will that near future be at Santa Anita Race Track for the Breeders' Cup Race. I think so. She is the best three year old horse in the country, period! Now we can only wait and see, but no matter what, the Breeders' Cup will be a sight to see. Could be California Chrome, Frosted, Beholder, Dortmund, and yes, maybe Songbird racing. I can't wait and it will be a once in a lifetime racing experience to see it in person. See you at the Cup.
